Sangu Hayatabad, Peshawar; May 20, 2022:  Ashfaq Ahmad was buried in 1997 in Sangu Hayatabad. On May 20, 2022, anti-Ahmadiyya elements dug up his grave and dumped his remains outside. On receiving the information, his sister along with a woman went to the graveyard, gathered his remains and buried them elsewhere. There is a risk that the perpetrators could repeat this enormity at other locations in the area.

In the recent past, several Ahmadis were target killed in Peshawar area. The killers threatened attacks in posters wherein they gave their phone numbers. The authorities failed to take effective measures against the extremist bigots. The province is ruled by PTI.
