Someone called 15 helpline and some more policemen arrived at the scene. Instead of dispersing the hostile crowd, the authorities asked Ahmadis to leave the premises. They then had to offer Friday prayer elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the police and the cleric of the neighboring mosque made announcements from their loudspeaker telling the crowd not to indulge in any unlawful activity—whereupon the mob left the site chanting anti-Ahmadi slogans.
The video of the incident went viral on the internet. These fanatics can be seen severely harassing two local Ahmadis, Sheikh Yousaf and Tanvir Ahmad. When Tanvir Ahmad gave them his name, one of the goons aggressively told him not to add Ahmad to his name. The audacity with which these fanatics harassed the two vulnerable Ahmadis, shows that they do not care for authorities nor for the consequences of unlawfully detaining Ahmadis.
