Ahmadi’s condolence made problematic by a bigot

Qazi Ahmad, District Nawabshah; February 2022:  Rana Ashfaq Ahmad, an Ahmadi, along with his friend, went to his friend’s relative to offer condolence. The deceased’s family arranged seating outside a mosque. A man took a photo of Mr. Ahmad sitting there. Later, a mulla Hafiz Muhammad Gill lodged a report with the police against the hosts where Mr. Ahmad had gone to offer condolence and accused them of letting a ‘Qadiani’ sit next to the mosque. “They received his condolence; this insulted Islam greatly”, he wrote. Also, the said person wrote ‘Curse, Curse’ on Mr. Ahmad’s photo and shared it on social media with tag: Qadianis’ head is offering condolence while sitting beside the mosque and the administration is idle. They demanded action from the administration. “If the administration does not stop Qadianis, we will stop them with full force”, they threatened. Later they filed a case with the Assistant Commissioner.

In this situation, Ahmadis asked the village influentials to intervene for reconciliation.
