Basti Shakrani, District Bahawalpur; June 2024: Tehreek-e-Labbaik has been demanding the removal of gravestones from the local Ahmadiyya cemetery and threatening the administration. On June 12, 2024, the administration informed Ahmadis of these demands. The community’s position was communicated, but the administration stated they would carefully erase the inscriptions without damaging the gravestones. However, on the night of June 12, 2024, at about midnight, the administration, accompanied by a large police presence, carried out the operation. Contrary to their promise, they broke and removed a total of 17 gravestones. Clerics also accompanied the police in this operation.
