Trigri, District Gujranwala; June 17, 2022: A man was using his cell phone in front of Mehmood Ahmad Butt’s home, the local Ahmadiyya president, who asked him the reason for roaming around. Later, the police detained Mr Butt, as the TLP (Tehreek Labaik) got involved and the situation got tense. The police claimed that Mr Butt was under protective custody. They shifted him elsewhere on assembly of a mob at the police station.
The complainant agreed to withdraw the case after some influential people intervened.
However, he reneged on intervention of Rana Ikram ullah, an anti-Ahmadi activist, who called on him, accompanied by 20 to 25 men.
On June 20, 2022, the police released Mr Butt.
