PR of IHRC; July 19, 2023: International Human Rights Committee issued the following press release on July 19, 2023.
On 14th July the Police desecrated the Minarets of the Ahmadiyya Place of Worship in Kala Gojra, district Jhelum. Behind all this was the pressure of the workers of Tehreek e Labbaik. They gave the ultimatum to carry out this task till the 10th Muharram or otherwise they would take the action themselves. They also posted posters of Tahaffuz e Khatm e Nabuwat March at different places in the city. They were titled as “The Protection of the Rituals of Islam is Hussainiat and the message of Kerbala”. The objective of the March written on the banners is that “To Desecrate the Minarets of the Qadiani Centre in Jhelum by themselves”.
Now the latest from Jhelum in this regard is:
On 16th July some unknown assailants while taking action desecrated the tombstones of the graves of two Companions of the Promised Messiah (May Allah Be Pleased with Him) Hadhrat Maulana Burhan Ud Din Jhelumi, and Hadhrat Maulvi Muhammad Ibrahim (May Allah Be Pleased with Both of Them) that was there in the combine graveyard. There was a protective boundary constructed around these graves, but in this action even those were damaged.
