In a recent statement, available in video, TLP’s leading mulla, Anas Rizvi, son of the known Khadim Rizvi told a large gathering that, “The Companions of the Holy Prophet killed 36000 Mirzais (a derogatory term for Ahmadis) under the leadership of Caliph Abu Bakr Siddique in the battle of Yamama”.
Ahmadiyya community came into being in year 1889 whereas the Battle of Yamama happened in 632 AD—twelve centuries earlier.
This mulla attempted to kill two birds with one stone, having no regards to the truth and the logic. Rizvi is leading a political party whose membership is based essentially on religious and sectarian identity. It is a pity this religious leader shows little concern for facts and figures for political gain. A sad state indeed!
