Ahmadi man murdered in Prison due to his faith On 16th May 2014.
Khalil Ahmad was martyred on 16th May 2016 in the district of Sheikhupura, Pakistan. On 13th May an argument ensued with opponents Ahmadiyyat when anti-Ahmadi stickers were taken down. The enemies of Ahmadiyyat used this as an excuse to form a rally where provocative speeches were made on loudspeakers, traffic was blocked on the roads and demands were made to the police for a court case against the Ahmadis. As a result of this, the police issued legal papers against four Ahmadis; Mubasher Ahmad sb, Ghulam Ahmad sb, Khalil Ahmad sb and Ahsan Ahmad sb and imprisoned them. while the bail of the others went through and they were released, Khalil Ahmad sb’s bail process begun. At around midday on the 16th May a young man named Saleem had approached Khalil Ahmad on the pretext that he had brought food. He asked for Khalil sb to be identified to him and proceeded to produce a hand gun and shoot him in the face. The assailant was apprehended and Khalil sb was brought out of his cell but had become a martyr. It is reported that after murdering Khalil sb, the assailant had raised a slogan claiming that he had attained paradise. God and his Prophet have made it clear that the punishment for one who kills those who have recited the Kalima is hellfire. However, the maulvis have manipulated their followers and given them the false tidings of paradise for such heinous actions.
Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (atba) mentioned in his Friday sermon on 23rd May 2014,
“Khalil Ahmad was 61 years of age and had recently retired from WAPDA. He was a pious Ahmadi and was regular in offering Salat and Tahajjud and had a deep connection with Jamaat and Khilafat. He was a very trustworthy Ahmadi who was keen on serving Humanity and helping those in need. He has also served jamaat in various capacities. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters.”
