District Faisalabad; June 2022: Ahmadis are facing hostility in Faisalabad for long. Consequently, there is a significant increase in hostility towards Ahmadis. Ahmadis who put up some resistance are harassed with official assistance. Recently, Assistant Commissioner Samundari sent for the local Ahmadiyya president and raised the mosque issue. In Chak 88, the police pressurized Ahmadis to demolish minarets and erase the Kalima (Islamic creed). Ahmadis offered to cover them, so that passersby could not see them, but the police refused the option to the marginalized community.
This is despite the Supreme Court verdict that everyone is free to worship privately according to one’s belief.
