Chak 261 Udhwali, District Faisalabad; June, 2022: In July 2021, a mob mostly of TLP, attacked Ahmadis’ homes. Ahmadis defended themselves. The police booked five Ahmadis and arrested Mr. Naveed Ahmad. In the follow-up investigation, four Ahmadis were released, while Mr. Naveed Ahmad was kept detained.
On January 26, 2022, Magistrate Faisalabad Bushra Anwar ordered his release after the plaintiff’s statement of the case withdrawal. Naveed was released having spent six months behind bars.
Later, Mr. Naveed Ahmad accompanied by three non-Ahmadi friends was attacked on April 27, 2022. He got bullet injuries, his friends remained unhurt.
Mr. Sami Ullah, an uncle of Naveed survived a murderous attack inside his home on May 15, 2022. The police called both the parties for investigation and detained them for a day under section 107/151.
The nominated attacker in these cases applied for bail, but the Additional Sessions Judge Faisalabad rejected it. The accused absented themselves to avoid arrest.
