Press Release
35 YEAR OLD AHMADIYYA PLACE OF WORSHIP ATTACKED BY VIOLENT MOB WITH THE HELP OF POLICE IN CHAK 604 TDA, DISTRICT MUZAFFARGARH.
On 11 April 2021, a violent mob with the help of a contingent of Police lead by DSP Allah Yar Saifi and SHO Munir Mohana attacked an Ahmadiyya place of worship in Chak 604 TDA Naseem Pulley, near Chowk Sarwar Shaheed district Muzaffargarh, in Punjab. This is the second such attack in two months just in Punjab province. Last month another place of worship, on 17 March, in Garmula Virkan, District Gujranwala was desecrated by a violent mob with the help of police.
In Muzaffargarh DSP allowed the mob to break the Ahmadiyya place of worship. The mob destroyed the minarets & mihrab of the building under the watchful protection of the police.
On top of that, police arrested five members of the Ahmadiyya community and registered the case.
The police raided the premises again at 2:00 AM & broke into the houses of members of the Ahmadiyya community to arrest more members. The police station Chowk Sarwar is not allowing anyone to see the arrested ones.
The spokesperson of Jama’at Ahmadiyya Pakistan said;
He urged that the government should take notice of this alarming situation, leave the members of the peaceful community alone, and stop this state-backed persecution of the members of the community. This is a gross violation of the human rights of the Ahmadiyya community and directly against the landmark 2014 judgment of Supreme Court chief justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani about the protection of places of worship.
