Okara; September 2023: On July 14, 2023, a motorcycle rally was taken out by the workers of Tehreek-e-Labaik, in which, while giving a speech, the local president of Tehreek-e-Labaik District Okara, demanded removal of the word “Muhammad” from local Ahmadiyya president’s name and to stop practicing in the courts (he is a lawyer) and said that this name can only be used by Muslims. It is a sacred name and cannot be associated with filth, he declared.
Due to the holidays of civil courts in the month of August 2023, Ahmadi would go to court only for part time. On August 25, he closed his chamber for the weekend. After that, on August 27, photos were shared among lawyers’ groups, in which some unknown persons had cut the words “Muhammad and Ahmad” from his name, written outside his chamber, and also removed the iron board. Opponents used very foul language where these pictures were shared. In this regard written requests have been made to the DPO and DSP.
